Eileen Haag
A native of Pennsylvania, Eileen Haag moved to Rancho Bernardo in 1969.
She was editor and co-publisher of the Bernardo News for 17 years, and produced an awarding-winning cable television interview show, featuring elected officials in federal, state and local offices. She later served as publisher and general manager of a group of nine-community newspapers in Southwest Riverside County.
She authors a weekly column in the Rancho Bernardo News Journal and has been a communications consultant since 1992.
Currently, she is the chairman of the board at Casa de las Campanas, and a member of the boards of the Rancho Bernardo Community Foundation, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, and the RB Historical Society. She is also a member of the San Diego Women's Foundation
Haag is married to Ira Lechner, an attorney who is a former Virginia state legislator. They reside across the lake from Rancho Bernardo in Del Dios.
